My team of the tournament is Turkey.
Reasons:
1. They played a very beautiful, attacking footbal and they weren't affraid of any of the big name teams they played against!
2. They narrowly lost to Germany 2-3, in the semi-final, having come level to 2-2 in the closing minutes of the game. They were unfortunate to concede last minute goal from the Germany overlapping defender Lahm, following the circumstances that they (Turkey) had a player lying on the ground -injured- who could have stopped the attack leading to the winning goal!
3. Having being hit by injuries and suspensions befor and after the quarter final game, Turkey played the entire game with 9 or 10 second string players. Yet they dominated the game, and in fairness, were unfortunate not to go through to the final!
That's why I have picked Turkey as my favourite team of the Euro2008 in Austria/Switzerland!
