The first architecture book to buy upon my England arrival was 'The Architect's Pocket Book', 2nd edn. for £16.00, five years ago.
Two days ago I saw the 3rd edition of the same book.
When I picked up the book just to see the preface, I was suprised read that it was in the memory of its author, Charlotte Baden-Powell! This was a suprise to me because previously I had not even received or heard news about her death (she died in November 2006, aged 70 and it will be exactly 2 years next month since she passed away peacefully at her home).
Her books are a good guidance for student architects, professionals who are beginning their careers and for everyone involved or with interest in architecture or in the building construction industry in general.
Also I like her philosophy that the book should be kept small in size, easy to carry (or read in the studio or on site).
